Inactive objects and On hold status

Follow

Whenever a lead, company or opportunity is Inactive, that means, in a simplified manner, that there is nothing scheduled in the future for that object. We will explain to you later the whole logic behind inactive objects but, for starters, this is the basic information you need to know. And don't mistake it with On hold, this status doesn't mean that an object is inactive, but that it's paused (we'll also talk about it later).

Where can I find my inactive objects?

You can find all your inactive objects in the Inactive tab on the left bar. From here, you can add next steps to your inactive leads, companies, and opportunities so that they become active again.

Inactive objects logic

As we mentioned before, the logic behind inactive objects is complex. Here, we present you all the possible scenarios for leads, companies, and opportunities:

Leads:

  • Lead without company and no opportunity is INACTIVE when...

a) The lead is in an Active status (On prospection, Engaged, Contacted, Nurturing) AND the lead doesn't have any future tasks in status to do.

b) The lead is in status Meeting AND the lead doesn't have any future tasks in status to do OR the lead doesn't have any Meeting activity scheduled in the future or Not reported.

  • Lead with company and no opportunity is INACTIVE when...

a) The lead is in an Active status (On prospection, Engaged, Contacted, Nurturing) AND the lead doesn't have any future tasks in status to do OR the company doesn't have any future tasks in status to do.

b) The lead is in status Meeting AND the lead doesn't have any future tasks in status to do OR the lead doesn't have any Meeting activity arranged in the future OR the company doesn't have any Meeting activity scheduled.

  • Lead with company and opportunity is INACTIVE when...

a) The lead is in an Active status (On prospection, Engaged, Contacted, Nurturing) AND the lead doesn't have any future tasks in status to do OR the company doesn't have any future tasks in status to do OR the opportunity doesn't have any future tasks in status to do.

b) The lead is in status Meeting AND the lead doesn't have any future tasks in status to do OR the company doesn't have any Meeting activity scheduled OR the opportunity does not have any Meeting activity scheduled.

Companies:

  • Company without leads and no opportunity is INACTIVE when...

a) The company is in an Active status (On prospection, Engaged, Contacted, Nurturing) AND the company doesn't have any future tasks in status to do.

b) The company is in status Meeting AND the company doesn't have any future tasks in status to do OR the company doesn't have any Meeting activity scheduled.

  • Company with lead/s and no opportunity is INACTIVE when...

a) The company is in an Active status (On prospection, Engaged, Contacted, Nurturing) AND the company doesn't have any future tasks in status to do OR none of the leads have any future tasks in status to do.

b) The company is in status Meeting AND the company doesn't have any future tasks in status to do OR the company doesn't have any Meeting activity scheduled OR none of the leads have any Meeting activity scheduled.

  • Company with lead/s and opportunity/ies is INACTIVE when...

a) The company is in an Active status (On prospection, Engaged, Contacted, Nurturing) AND the company doesn't have any future tasks in status to do OR none of the leads have any future tasks in status to do OR none of the related opportunities have any future tasks in status to do.

b) The company is in status Meeting AND the company doesn't have any future tasks in status to do OR none of the leads have any future tasks in status to do OR none of the related opportunities have any future tasks in status to do OR the company doesn't have any Meeting activity scheduled OR the opportunity doesn't have any Meeting activity scheduled.

Opportunities:

  • Opportunity with no lead and no company [case supported but not possible in a normal flow in BB] is INACTIVE when...

a) The opportunity is in an Active status (ALL custom status EXCEPT the CLOSED_WON or CLOSE_LOST) AND the opportunity doesn't have any future tasks in status to do OR the opportunity doesn't have any Meeting activity scheduled.

  • Opportunity with lead/s and no company is INACTIVE when...

a) The opportunity is in an Active status (ALL custom status EXCEPT the CLOSED_WON or CLOSE_LOST) AND the opportunity doesn't have any future tasks in status to do OR the opportunity doesn't have any Meeting activity scheduled OR none of their related leads have any future tasks in status to do OR none of their related leads have any Meeting activity scheduled.

  • Opportunity with lead/s and company is INACTIVE when...

a) The opportunity is in an Active status (ALL custom status EXCEPT the CLOSED_WON or CLOSE_LOST) AND the opportunity doesn't have any future tasks in status to do OR the opportunity doesn't have any Meeting activity scheduled OR the company doesn't have any future tasks in status to do OR the company doesn't have any Meeting activity scheduled OR none of their related leads have any future tasks in status to do OR none of their related leads have any Meeting activity scheduled.

What is the On hold status?

It’s a status without logic, the purpose is to use this status for classifying companies without next steps. That means On hold is a paused status.

This may sound like Nurturing, but they are not the same. After some changes, the differences are:

In this way, you can use the status On hold to classify objects without next step and keep them as “paused” objects without being classified as Inactive.
