When using the dialer, error messages can pop up, these are not always easy to understand.
In this article, we have put together a list of the most frequent errors, what they mean, and what you need to do to solve them.
Frequent error messages
Incoming call rejected due to inactive account
This is often caused by a lack of funds in Twilio. Contact your company's Twilio Account Manager to ensure you have sufficient funds in your account.
To avoid this from happening again, we advise you to activate the automatic fund recharge in Twilio.
If it is not due to a lack of funds, contact Bloobirds' customer support team.
Websocket connection unexpectedly ended
The connection to the VOIP provider Twilio signaling servers was ended. If the problem persists, contact Bloobirds' customer support team.
Call cancelled
This error indicates that the incoming call was cancelled because it was not answered in time or it was accepted/rejected by another application instance registered with the same identity.
Other error messages
API: Call blocked by Twilio blacklist
The number you are calling appears to be blocked by Twilio.
Call already initiated
The call has already started.
Call channel is not supported when using PSD2
This call channel is not supported while Twilio's Verify Service has PSD2 enabled.
Call concurrency limit exceeded
The call was rejected because you reached the maximum limit of simultaneous calls available for your account.
Caller's phone number is required
You tried to make a phone call without specifying the number to call from. This is required for Twilio to know what caller ID to use for the phone call.
Call Progress: Internal Twilio Error
Your call could not be processed because of an internal Twilio error. Please contact Twilio if this error persists.
Call Progress: Queue Timeout
There appears to be a network disruption between Twilio and your web server. Please try again.
Call timed out
The call timed out before the system could start the call. CPS limits may be too low
Call/Transaction Does Not Exist
The call no longer exists.
Callee Busy
The person you are calling appears to be busy.
Callee did not answer
The person you are calling is not answering.
The called number is a premium number
You seem to have tried to make a phone call to a "premium" number, such as a toll line.
Dial: Call blocked by Twilio blacklist
The number you are calling to is blocked by Twilio because it has a high-risk of fraud or due to regulatory reasons cannot be enabled by default.
Dial: Cannot Dial out from a Dial Call Segment
Call cannot be made because of lack of geolocation permissions. Please contact Bloobirds for support.
Dial->Conference: Invalid endConferenceOnExit value
The connection was lost during the call. Please try again.
Dial->Conference: Invalid PostWorkActivitySid
The provided PostWorkActivitySid (security identifier) on the Conference TwiML is not a valid ActivitySid. Please contact Bloobirds for support.
Dial->Conference: Invalid Priority
The provided Priority is not a valid integer. Please contact Bloobirds for support.
Dial: Invalid From number (caller ID)
Your caller ID appears to be invalid. Make sure the number you wish to call from was entered correctly.
Dial->Conference: Invalid WorkflowSid
The provided WorkflowSid (security identifier) is not valid. Please contact Bloobirds for support.
Dial->Queue: Invalid whisper method
Error connecting to API. Please make sure that your endpoints are setup correctly to connect Twilio with Bloobirds.
Dial->Conference: Provided Attributes was not valid JSON
The provided Attributes is not in valid JSON format. Please contact Bloobirds for support.
Dial->Queue: Could not find or accept provided reservationSid
The provided ReservationSid (security identifier) could not be found or has been canceled. Please contact Bloobirds for support.
Dial: Twilio does not support calling this number or the number is invalid
This number appears to be invalid or Twilio does not support calling this number. This could happen because the country or area code is not correctly included.
Incoming call rejected due to inactive account
This could be because your Twilio account lacks funds. If not, please contact Bloobirds' support.
Geo Permission configuration is not permitting call
The number you are calling is not enabled for your account. This could be because you misdialed the number.
Dial->Conference: Invalid Timeout
The provided Timeout is not a valid integer. Please contact Bloobirds for support.
Dial->Queue: queue name too short
The phone number you entered is too short. It must be at least 1 character long.
Dial->Queue: queue name too long
The phone number you entered is too long. It must be shorter than 64 characters.
Dial->Queue: Invalid ReservationSid. Unable to dequeue
The provided ReservationSid (security identifier) is not valid. Please contact Bloobirds for support.
Dial->Conference: Invalid ReservationSid
The provided ReservationSid (security identifier) on the Conference TwiML is not valid. Please contact Bloobirds for support.
No Call number specified
You tried to make a phone call without specifying the number to call from. This is required for Twilio to know what caller ID to use for the phone call.
International calling not enabled
You seem to have tried to make a phone call to an international phone number which is not currently supported.
Invalid Called Phone Number
The number you are trying to call to does not appear to be a valid phone number. Make sure you include "+ country code", e.g. "+34".
Invalid From Number (caller ID)
The number you are trying to call from does not appear to be a valid phone number or alphanumeric sender ID.
Geo Permission configuration is not permitting call
You tried to make a phone call to a phone number that is not enabled for your account. Please make sure international calling permissions are enabled.
Phone number does not appear to be valid
The phone number does not appear to be valid. Please check the number and try again.
Invalid call state
You tried to do an ongoing-call action for a call that was not ongoing. Calls that have completed cannot be recorded or redirected.
Number already can be used for outgoing calls and messages
The number you tried to add as an outgoing caller ID to your account can already be used for calls and messages.
Invalid CallDelay
Call delay must be an integer between 0 and 60, specifying the number of seconds to delay before initiating the validation call.
Unable to Initiate Verification Call
The number you are trying to verify cannot be reached, is invalid, or has been blocked.
PSTN: Carrier blocked call due to calling number (caller ID)
The carrier blocked the call due to the number you are calling from. Please make sure you are using a valid number.
SIP: Call blocked by Twilio blacklist
The number you are calling is blocked by Twilio. This could be because it has a high risk of fraud, or due to regulatory reasons cannot be enabled by default.
